What is Yoga? (sutra 1.2)

January 13, 2012 By Melody

Pure coincidence...3 years ago I wrote a blog post with the exact same title "what is yoga?"  Clearly, this is a popular writing because I also blogged on the thought "what is yoga?" back in 2007 too (read it here).  The 3rd time is a charm, right? Staying with the commitment I stated in my last blog post, 2012 is my year for digging deeper into my yoga book studies starting with The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.  Given I touched on yoga sutra 1.1 in the previous post, it seems logical to move to … [Read more...]

I believe this concept so much that I talked about riding change and its challenges on Monday morning during the yoga class I taught to the City of Alexandria Fire … [Read more...]

Time to Pause

August 12, 2011 By Melody

This summer I was planning to have a lot of time on my hands, or a lot more than usual I should say.  I created a long "to do" list to tackle June-August.  I will spare you the details; highlights only:  write/blog more ---clearly the blog has been neglected.  Though I've been writing, I can't seem to find the time to transfer my writings from paper to computer. revamp my website ---abellaYoga.com is in dire need of a face lift.  Of course, the process so far of interviewing marketing/web … [Read more...]
