The Business Of Yoga
Welcome To The Business of Yoga Teacher Coaching Program
Two thoughts come to mind when I hear people are completing a 200-hour yoga teacher training program:
- Congratulations…your yoga practice (& life) will never be the same.
- More importantly…what’s next?
The Business of Yoga teacher coaching program is designed to help you navigate the “what’s next?” and offer insight into how to take your teaching beyond the yoga studio.
Whether you want to teach just 1-2 private yoga clients per week or venture into teaching yoga as a full-time profession, this program delves into topics not covered in most 200-hour yoga teacher training programs including:
- how do I start teaching group yoga classes in homes, schools, hospitals, offices, etc.?
- what should I charge for private clients?
- should I meet with a private client *I don’t know* in their home?
- pros and cons of teaching office yoga classes
- how do I write a contract and invoice a corporate client for an office yoga gig I just landed?
Melody, an E-RYT 500, is passionate about teaching yoga in non-traditional/studio settings: private homes, corporate offices, museums, convention centers, outdoors and anywhere else you can imagine doing yoga in Washington, DC, Alexandria and Arlington, VA. She founded a mobile yoga business (abellaYoga) in 2006 based on her belief that yoga can be done anywhere, anytime, by anyone. She’s happy to help guide those who want to take their yoga teaching into non-studio settings.
How it works
For Registered Yoga Schools in the Washington, DC area offering teacher training programs (200-hour/ 300-hour/500-hour), The Business of Yoga can be offered as a three-hour module to current teacher trainees. Melody will travel to your studio to present on The Business of Yoga as well as answer specific questions from your teacher trainees. It is best to offer this module toward the end of your program when teacher trainees are starting to think about “what’s next?”
The Business of Yoga can also be offered as a workshop for all your past graduates, and will count as 3 contact hours of continuing education (CEUs) with the Yoga Alliance.
If you’re a graduate of a 200-hour teacher training and would like private one-to-one coaching, this coaching program can be set-up via phone for your convenience. You’ll get three 30-45 minute phone conversations over a 6-week period. Each phone call will end with an action list for you to tackle between our conversations.
